Personality: Inherently antisocial and a man of few words, Mykel is quite a force to be reckoned with. Even moreso when his sadistic streak is piqued. He's one of the 'quiet ones' they warn you about.
History: What is known of Mykel's past is shrouded in mystery and intrigue. Found badly beaten and left to die in the wilderness at the age of 15, Mykel was taken in by an old recluse by the name of Razoul and nursed back to health. He was left with no memory of his past save for brief flashes of images that slip through his mind like smoke.
Over the next four years, Mykel became an apprentice of sorts to Razoul, learning the ways of the wilderness and the skills of a ranger. Upon a visit to a nearby town, Razoul discovered that there were certain individuals looking for Mykel and that there was a reward for the recovery of the boy. He intended to lure Mykel into a trap and get his hands on the reward. But his ward learned of the treachery and, before he could be betrayed, Mykel killed his master and set off on his own, determined to look out for number one from now on. He'd learned that lesson well.
His travels took him all over the continent, a bit of questionable luck eventually landing him in the service of the Mistress of a Rogues' Guild in a booming metropolis. There he learned the skill of Shadowdancing--the art of manipulating the shadows and moving among them as if you were a part of the darkness--and the appreciation of a bit of pain with his pleasure. He also learned that people were willing to pay a great deal to have things found or stolen. And a great deal more to have people killed. Four years after enetering the Guild's fold, he left to pursue his own career as a mercenary. He became exceedingly good at it.
Years passed and Mykel's work took him all over. In a nondescript tavern, on a perfectly ordinary night, a red haired half-elf by the name of Rion caught his eye and the two spent a night together that would linger in both men's minds long after both had gone their seperate ways.
A year later, the two unexpectedly found themselves working together on a job and discovered they made an excellent team outside of the bedroom as well as in. The next couple of years were spent taking mercenary jobs whenever available or the fancy took, as well as dealing with personal trials. Unbeknownst to Mykel, during this time several people were looking for him. In the far off desert kingdom of Maradesh, the king had died and, instead of his younger legitimate son, he named his older bastard son as his successor. The king's trusted advisor sent out people to find Mykel and convince him to return to the land of his birth. The prince, Darius, secretly sent out people to make sure Mykel never returned.
With the aid of his lover and various allies, Mykel is currently fighting his way back to AMradesh where he will face his half-brother, the prince Darius, his mother, the treacherous Queen Thalia, and various enemies in his attempt to claim the crown as his own.
